Corrosion Resistance of AISI 304 Stainless Steel Modified Both Femto- and Nanosecond Lasers

This article is aimed to study the effect of laser treatment AISI 304 stainless steel on corrosion resistance and chemical composition surface layer. The samples were irradiated using two quite different sources: IPG Yb:glass fibre (? = 230 ns, ? 1062 nm) Trumpf TruMicro Series 2020 fiber 260 fs–20 ps, 1030 that is, in both long ultra-short pulse duration regime. It allowed observation completely microstructures In this study, morphology was accessed Keyence digital microscope Olympus Lext 5000 profilometer. examined 3% NaCl solution potentiodynamic measurement Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy. order examine change layer, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy performed.
